No wires, no airport hassles

Regarding: “He’s Trouble” [On the Spot, April 1]. Like Bill Gordon, I too am a 61-year-old “white-bread multi-generation” American, as he calls it. I was also stopped almost every time I went through airport security, until one day I asked why.
I was told that security detected numerous wires: cellphone charger, earphones, etc.
I now include those items in my check-in luggage and have not been stopped since.
