Height shouldn’t be a special effect

RE “Scene Stealer” [by Ron Magid, Nov. 15]: Would The Times report on the digitizing effects of “Fred Claus” with the same casualness if the digital effect made a white actor black? Pretty soon Hollywood will have no need for the misshapen and unnatural forms of persons with dwarfism for such roles when they can use “normal” actors and “shrink them down” to make them look like us without actually being us.
