The Real Crazy People Are Those Stuck in Their Cars

When I look at drivers I see a culture that is insane (“Stepping Out,” by Christopher Hawthorne, Watch This Space, Sept. 16). It is insane to spend the best hours of the day stuck in traffic. It is insane to devote prime real estate to park a vehicle that’s not being used. It is insane to spend a huge chunk of one’s salary to buy and drive a car. I guess others will see the light when gas here costs as much as it does in Europe.
