RAINY DAY WOMEN
In one’s living-in-Los Angeles experience, there’s usually a five-year itch when the cheap rents, public transit and excellent coffee of the Pacific Northwest look terribly inviting. This double bill of leading lights from Olympia, Wash.-based twee-pop institution K Records might permanently sell you on that land of rain and cardigans. Mirah is a cult-beloved singer-songwriter with five records of richly ambient indie-folk to her name, including 2004’s excellent “C’mon Miracle” and last year’s “Share This Place,” a concept album about the secret lives of insects. Portland electro-pop group the Blow is even more exciting, pairing lyrics of wide-eyed young lust with cracking synthesized doo-wop beats. 8 p.m. Fri., Music Box @ Fonda. $15. (323) 464-0808
