‘Doubt’ enters AFI Fest’s picture

“Doubt” will replace “The Soloist” as the opening movie at the AFI Los Angeles International Film Festival next week -- even though it isn’t finished.
Festival organizers had to scramble after Paramount decided last week to push the release of “The Soloist” from November to March. Miramax Films came to the rescue.
“Doubt,” which stars Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman, is due in theaters Dec. 12. A close-to-finished version will screen at ArcLight’s Cinerama Dome Theatre in Hollywood on Thursday, kicking off the festival that runs through Nov. 9.
