Facebook goes down, Twitter picks up slack

Facebook, the world's largest social media website, went down early Friday morning according to sites like DownForEveryoneOrJustMe.com, before returning to service at 9:20 a.m.
The company responded to the outage, issuing a statement saying, "Facebook is currently experiencing an issue that is affecting all API and web surfaces. Our engineers detected the issue quickly and are working to resolve it ASAP. We'll update shortly."
Social media users wasted no time before heading over to other social outlets such as Twitter to share their dismay. Users from around the world tweeted their displeasure at not being able to see their friends' and families' updates. Check out a few of the reactions below.
