Stocks higher after durable goods report

Stocks moved higher in early trading on Wall Street following a report showing an increase in orders for durable goods.
The Dow Jones industrial average was up 84 points, or 0.7%, to 12,618 shortly after the opening bell.
The broader Standard & Poor’s 500 Index was up 11 points, or 0.8%, to 1,331.
The Nasdaq was up 20 points, or 0.7%, to 2,874.
The U.S. Commerce Department reported new orders for durable manufactured goods rose $2.3 billion, or 1.1%, to $217.2 billion in May.
The increase comes after two straight months of decreases.
