Suspect throwing rocks from overpass injures driver on downtown Los Angeles freeway, CHP says

The California Highway Patrol is searching for a person who hit at least three vehicles with rocks thrown from an overpass on the 10 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles.
One driver was struck in the chest by a large rock that crashed through his windshield, according to authorities. .
Video from the OnScene.TV news service showed a pickup truck stopped on the shoulder of the freeway with a gaping hole in the windshield. The vehicle was found by the Los Angeles Fire Department on the westbound side of the 10 Freeway at the 110 Freeway interchange near Adams Boulevard.
The unidentified driver reported that something flew through his windshield and struck him in the chest, according to Lyndsey Lantz with the Los Angeles Fire Department. The extent of the driver’s injuries were unknown, but he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance shortly before midnight.
Police received two additional reports of vehicles that were hit by debris likely thrown from an overpass in the same general area around the same time, according to CHP Officer Roberto Gomez.
The incident remains under investigation and there is no description at this time of a suspect.
A driver who said his vehicle was hit told KTTV-TV that he saw someone standing on the shoulder of the freeway wearing a hoodie over his head.
