‘The Wire’: Where are they now?

Have you ever found yourself wondering, “Where’s Wallace?” Turns out, he was starring in a little movie called “Black Panther. We took a look at what the stars of the Baltimore-based series have been up to for the past decade.
In addition to being named People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” in 2018, Elba (Stringer Bell) has been staying busy on the big screen. He’s set to appear in the “Cats” movie this year, and has had roles in “The Mountain Between Us,” “Molly’s Game,” and “The Dark Tower.” He’s also known for starring in crime drama “Luther.”

Ransone (Ziggy Sobotka) is starring in the creepy clown sequel “It Chapter Two.” He also had a role in David Simon’s “Treme.”

Felicia (“Snoop”) Pearson starred in 2014’s “Da Sweet Blood of Jesus” and had a role in Spike Lee’s “Chi-Raq” in 2015. In August 2011, Pearson pleaded guilty to conspiracy to sell heroin in Baltimore.

Royo (Bubbles) starred in “Hunter Gatherer” in 2016, and he plays Thirsty Rawlings on FOX’s “Empire.” He appeared in the 2013 film “The Spectacular Now” as Mr. Aster, in addition to making TV appearances on “Bob’s Burgers,” “NTSF:SD:SUV” and “Elementary.”

Reddick (Cedric Daniels) had had roles in Amazon TV series “Corporate” and “Bosch.” He played Phillip Broyles on the FOX show “Fringe” from 2008 to 2013. The Baltimore native was also in “Castle,” “John Wick” and “John Wick 2.”

Lovejoy (Asst. State’s Atty. Rhonda Pearlman) has been making appearances in TV series such as “Orange Is the New Black,” “American Horror Story,” “Girls” and “Shameless.” She has played Cynthia Panabaker on “The Blacklist” since 2016. Lovejoy also portrayed Debbie Regan in “The Post.”

Akinnagbe (Chris Partlow) also is in on “The Deuce” action, playing Larry Brown alongside some of his other “Wire” alums. Akinnagbe was in “Detroit” and “Independence Day: Resurgence.” He’s also had roles Showtime’s “Nurse Jackie” and FX’s “Damages.”

Wilds (Michael Lee) starred for several years on “90210” as Dixon Wilson. More recently, he played Deputy Joshua Beck in “Shots Fired.” Wilds — who’s been going by the name Mack Wilds — released his debut album, “New York: A Love Story,” in late 2013 and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album.

Cathey (Norman Wilson) died at the age of 59 in 2018. Cathey has had roles in “House of Cards,” “The Blacklist,” “The Good Wife,” HBO’s film “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” and more.
