Helena Bonham Carter and director Tim Burton have split after 13 years together, the actress’ rep confirmed Tuesday to the Los Angeles Times.
The quirky ex-couple, who met while shooting “Planet of the Apes,” actually “separated amicably earlier this year,” the rep told People magazine, which first reported the news.
Burton, 56, and Bonham Carter, 48, are reportedly still friends and are co-parenting their two kids, 11-year-old Billy and 7-year-old Nell. They never married.
Their films together include “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” “Alice in Wonderland” and “Dark Shadows.”
Burton’s “Big Eyes” opens on Christmas. Bonham Carter’s upcoming “Cinderella,” with Lily James in the lead role, is set for a March release.
The “Harry Potter” alum plays Cinderella’s fairy godmother.
