Actress Megan Fox and husband Brian Austin Green were hit by what police said was a drunk driver in Los Angeles on Thursday night.
The “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” star and Green, of “Beverly Hills, 90210” fame, were driving on Benedict Canyon Road near Mulholland Drive a little after 9:15 p.m. when the other vehicle crossed a double yellow line and came at them, going in the opposite direction of traffic.
“It appeared that the suspect was driving northbound on Benedict Canyon then crossed the double yellow lines into opposing traffic and collided with the victims,” said Officer Sara Faden of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The other driver, Ignacio Demaria, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, Faden said.
Demaria, 35, was arrested at 11:10 p.m. and held in lieu of $30,000 bail. He was released a little after noon on Friday, according to jail records, and is set to appear in court on Jan. 5.
Green and Fox’s sons Noah, 2, and Bodhi, nearly 10 months, were not in the vehicle when the accident occurred, and no injuries were reported at the scene.
A TMZ report described the collision as a sideswipe and said a tire was blown out on Fox and Green’s car. The website said the suspect’s blood alcohol level was twice the 0.08% legal limit.
Police could not verify those details to the Los Angeles Times. Reps for Green and Fox declined to comment on the incident.
