Sandra Bullock reportedly rushed to the aid of an extra distressed by the heat on the set of her latest movie.
The “Gravity” star is back in son Louie’s birthplace of New Orleans to film “Our Brand Is Crisis” and she proved that she can hold her own in a crisis situation: The actress provided medical help to the extra after the unidentified woman collapsed from heat stroke on Sunday, according to Gossip Cop and TMZ.
Bullock, 50, is said to have fanned the woman in the shade and gave her water until paramedics arrived on set to take her to the hospital, the sites said.
Photos obtained by TMZ show the Oscar winner on her knees, holding an umbrella as a small crowd gathered around the woman. Her costar Billy Bob Thornton looked on from nearby.
The site reported that extras were instructed to wear warm clothes despite the Big Easy’s heat. The set was dark on Monday, but the cast and crew were back at work by Tuesday, the reports said.
The forthcoming film is based on the eponymous 2005 documentary about the use of American political strategies in South America. It also stars Thornton and Anthony Mackie and is being produced by Grant Heslov and Bullock’s “Gravity” costar George Clooney.
A rep for Bullock did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
