Hollywood Headlines: A crazy week in review
You can take the boxer out of the fight, but you can’t take the fight out of the boxer -- especially, when the opponent is the paparrazi. Mike Tyson landed at LAX airport and then in jail when a photographer allegedly started following him and his family and a confrontation ensued, with the paparazzo ending up in the hospital. Each man claimed the other struck him, police said, and both men were arrested. And now Tyson is claiming self-defense. Britney Spears’ shows down under haven’t gone over so well. Australian fans and critics have been quite upset over various aspects of Brit-Brit’s lackluster performance, including the lack of live singing, which led some 100 concert-goers to storm out of a recent show in Perth. John Mayer added his 140 characters about the situation with the tweet: “ If you’re shocked that Britney was lip-syncing at her concert and want your money back, life may continue to be hard for you.” Perhaps truer words were never tweeted. It’s truly game over (or hoax over) for the parents of
The Twi-hard nation was in a tizzy this week when photos of rumored love birds Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson surfaced with the young starlets holding hands as they boarded a private jet in Paris. Of all the cantankerous guests that Larry King has had over the years, who would have guessed that a beauty pageant contestant would give the soon-to-be 76-year-old so much trouble? Clearly, Carrie Prejean was not feeling like Miss Congeniality while she was on King’s show. When asked about the settlement between her and the Miss California USA organization, Carrie got quite huffy and said King was being “inappropriate.” Inappropriate, huh? After being let go from TV’s “Melrose Place” early in the season, Ashlee Simpson is employed once again, landing a gig on Broadway, no less. Mrs. Peter Wentz will be returning to the role of Roxy Heart in “Chicago,” a part she played in London’s West End back in 2006. The 25-year-old actress will be joining the cast in December.
