David Crosby hit jogger with his car, authorities say; victim airlifted

Singer-songwriter David Crosby hit a jogger with his car in Santa Barbara County over the weekend, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened around 5:50 p.m. Sunday in Santa Ynez, according to a CHP incident report.
The jogger, identified as 46-year-old Jose Jimenez of Santa Ynez, was near the side of the road and was going the same direction as Crosby, according to the report. It said Crosby was driving a 2015 Tesla about 55 miles per hour, the speed limit on that stretch of the street.
Jimenez suffered multiple fractures, abrasions and lacerations but is expected to survive, according to the report. He was airlifted to a hospital. Crosby was not injured, the report said.
Crosby said he did not see the jogger because the sun was in his eyes, the report said. It said drugs and alcohol are not considered factors.
The incident remains under investigation.
Attempts to reach Crosby for comment were unsuccessful.
Crosby has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice, once as a member of the Byrds and once as a member of Crosby, Stills & Nash.
