The Flash Another DC Comics character joins the series: Earth-2, the alias of Cisco’s (Carlos Valdes) brother (Nicholas Gonzalez), and he’s out for revenge. 8 p.m. KTLA
New Girl As her big day fast approaches, Cece (Hannah Simone) is worried that Jess (Zooey Dschanel) won’t be finished with the wedding dress on time, 8 p.m. Fox. A second new episode airs at 9 p.m.
American Masters Amy J. Berg’s documentary “Janis: Little Girl Blue” recalls rock-music icon Janis Joplin through interviews from relatives, friends and peers. Kris Kristofferson (co-writer of “Me and Bobby McGee”), Melissa Etheridge and Clive Davis comment. Narrator Cat Power reads from letters that Joplin wrote to her parents. 8 p.m. KOCE and KPBS
The Real O’Neals Kenny (Noah Galvin) is unhappy when Jimmy (Matt Shively) is appointed to lead a youth retreat, so he decides to take Jimmy’s customary spot among troublemakers in the new episode. Martha Plimpton also stars with guest star Matt Oberg. 8:30 p.m. ABC
Grandfathered The normally upbeat Jimmy (John Stamos) deals with a sudden loss in this new episode of the family comedy. 8:30 p.m. Fox
NCIS: New Orleans The team investigates when a New Orleans culinary expert connected to the Navy survives an explosion at the French Quarter restaurant operated by her family. Chefs John Besh, Susan Spicer, Leah Chase and Sue Zemanick appear as themselves. Ivan Sergei and musician Gary Clark Jr. also guest star. 9 p.m. CBS
Person of Interest The final season of this high-tech mystery series opens with Reese and Finch (Jim Caviezel, Michael Emerson) trying to preserve what they can of The Machine before it’s too late. Carrie Preston (Emerson’s wife) reprises her earlier guest role. 10 p.m. CBS
Frontline Journalist Feras Kilani investigates war-torn Benghazi, which is besieged by the Islamic State group and warring militias. 10 p.m. KOCE and KPBS
The Night Manager Now a trusted member of Roper’s (Hugh Laurie) inner circle, Jonathan (Tom Hiddleston) begins to glean information from other members of the household and pass it along to Angela (Olivia Colman).Tom Hollander and David Harewood also star. 10 p.m. AMC
