SUNDAY

They deliver: The veddy British period drama about midwifery in working-class 1950s London returns with a special holiday episode titled … wait for it … the “Call the Midwife Holiday Special.” Jessica Raine and Jenny Agutter star. (KOCE, 7:30 p.m.)

MONDAY

Auld acquaintance: The late music-and-television impresario who went out into the cold in Times Square so you didn’t have to, above, is remembered in “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Celebrates Dick Clark,” followed by the two annual specials that still bear his name. (ABC, 8, 10 and 11:30 p.m.)

Other televised to-dos include “NBC’s New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly,” and “New Year’s Eve Live!” hosted by Marlon Wayans. (NBC, 10 and 11:30 p.m.; Fox, 11 p.m.)

TUESDAY

In all likelihood, and as usual, it’ll be sunny-and-clear, picture-postcard weather when the venerable duo of Bob Eubanks and Stephanie Edwards are seated street-side in Pasadena to anchor local coverage of “The 124th Tournament of Roses Parade.” (KTLA, 8 a.m.)

You can waltz till you drop, then settle in for a big schmeer of show tunes, when “Great Performances” presents “From Vienna: The New Year’s Celebration 2013,” followed by “Broadway Musicals: A Jewish Legacy.” (KOCE, 8 and 9:30 p.m.)

WEDNESDAY

It’s a whole lotta lava as “Nova” details the threat posed by “Doomsday Volcanoes” in this new episode. Then, it’s mo’ magma, mo’ problems on the debut of the similarly themed docu-series “Life on Fire,” narrated by Jeremy Irons. (KOCE, 9 and 10 p.m.)

THURSDAY

Looking to do for the West Virginia hill country what “Jersey Shore” did for the Jersey shore, it’s the new reality series “Buckwild,” in which you’ll meet a whole ‘nuther passel of young’uns what don’t have the good sense God gave a goat. (MTV, 10 and 10:30 p.m.)

FRIDAY

We’ll always have “Portlandia.” Well, maybe not always. But for now, at least, Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein’s sketch series, set in the über-hip Oregon burg, is back for a third season. (IFC, 10 and 10:30 p.m. IFC)

SATURDAY

Chris Diamantopoulos, below left, Sean Hayes and Will Sasso are “The Three Stooges” in the Farrelly brothers’ affectionate 2012 homage to the legendary slapstick trio. And in case you were wondering, spell-check doesn’t know what to make of the phrase “nyuck, nyuck, nyuck.” (HBO, 8 p.m.)
