NBC renews David Duchovny drama ‘Aquarius’ for a second season

NBC has renewed “Aquarius” for another season after high ratings and positive reviews of the show’s digital premiere.
The 1960s crime drama stars David Duchovny as a Los Angeles police officer on the hunt for Charles Manson.
It was the second-most-viewed drama premiere on NBC.com and the NBC app. It also delivered the most-watched first 24 hours of a summer series premiere on the network’s digital platforms.
NBC broadcasts of “Aquarius” are averaging a 1.2 rating in adults aged 18-49 and 5.8 million viewers overall, according to Nielsen Media Research.
The show, which also stars Emma Dumont, Grey Damon, Gethin Anthony and Claire Holt, was inspired by real-life people and events. Writer John McNamara (“In Plain Sight”) serves as executive producer with Marty Adelstein (“Prison Break”), David Duchovny and Melanie Greene.
