The annual Met Gala, one of the major fashion events of the year, is where New York’s entertainment and media chic mix and mingle with Hollywood’s A-List crowd. Each year the looks on the red carpet get more daring and sophisticated and outrageous. The official theme of this year’s gala was Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.

Move over, Rihanna. Zoe Saldana brings fashion flair and drama to this year’s Met Gala.
We didn’t have Rihanna at the Met Gala this year to give us fashion drama. (However, if you must see her, RiRi will be in Los Angeles on Tuesday with her Anti World Tour at the Forum in Inglewood.)

The official title of the gala is the Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology Costume Institute Gala at Metropolitan Museum of Art. Tonight we’ll simply call it the Met Gala.
