Earthquake: Magnitude 3.0 quake strikes near Squaw Valley, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Wednesday morning 14 miles east of Squaw Valley, Calif., in the Sierra Nevada, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 6:43 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 6.8 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 25 miles from Dinuba, Calif., 27 miles from Reedley, Calif., and 30 miles from Exeter, Calif.
In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
