Earthquake: 3.4 quake strikes near Big Pine, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.4 earthquake was reported Wednesday morning seven miles from Big Pine, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 2:36 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 3.1 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 71 miles from Dinuba, 71 miles from Exeter and 72 miles from Reedley.
In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
