Police in Napa are investigating the death of a 54-year-old man whose naked body was found in a freezer Tuesday.
About 12:30 p.m., officers performed a welfare check at an apartment where the man lived in the 2100 block of Brown Street, Napa police Lt. Debbie Peecook said in a statement.
Relatives of the man had not seen or heard from him since late February, prompting the police visit.
Officers noticed the door to the apartment was unlocked -- which was not unusual, Peecook said. They found the man’s body in a large horizontal freezer.
His name was not released pending notification of family.
Police say there’s no signs of a struggle or evidence of a forced entry into the apartment.
