Campus cleared after caller prompts LAPD search at Franklin High School

Classes have resumed at Benjamin Franklin High School after the campus was on lockdown for several hours, officials said.
Police searched the Highland Park high school Monday afternoon after an unidentified caller claimed to have shot a school officer and placed a bomb on the campus, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The high school was placed on lockdown as a safety measure, but police believed the call is false, officials said.
“None of this has been verified,” LAPD spokesman Drake Madison said shortly after officers responded to the call. “It looks like it’s going to be a bogus call.”
