Reporting from San Diego — A motorcycle rider was killed early Thursday in a collision with a deer in southern San Diego County, the California Highway Patrol said.
A 45-year-old man from Potrero was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson along State Route 94 near Tecate when the incident occurred at 4:45 a.m., the CHP said.
The rider was wearing a helmet but was thrown from his motorcycle when the collision occurred.
“The motorcyclist had no time to react as a deer ran out in front of him,” said a CHP report.
