Murrieta teen accused of stabbing younger brother several times

A 16-year-old teen boy was arrested Saturday on suspicion of stabbing his younger brother several times at an apartment building in Murrieta, police said.
The teen was taken into custody just after 3:05 p.m. on suspicion of attempted homicide and booked into the Southwest Juvenile Detention Facility, Murrieta Police Sgt. Matthew Henry said in a statement.
Police said the boy and his 15-year-old brother got into an argument at the Rancho Las Brisa apartment in the 40100 block of Los Alamos Road. But when the argument escalated, he pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed his brother several times in the arm, back and neck, Henry said.
Police recovered a knife nearby.
The youngest brother was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated for serious and “non-life-threatening” injuries, police said.
Henry said he is expected to “fully recover.”
