Mark Rosales photographed this image on a hot afternoon in Venice. A man was enjoying a soft drink on his porch -- hiding from the blistering sun -- when Rosales snapped this photo of him.
“I noticed how the deep shadows of the tree fall on him, which created a bit of a mystery with the subject,” Rosales said. “It told another story.”
Rosales made this image using a Leica M9 with a Voigtlander 28-millimeter 3.5 Color-Skopar lens.
