6 dead, 4 injured in Texas roller rink shooting

AUSTIN, Texas, July 23 (Reuters) - Six people died and four were injured in a mass shooting during a family birthday party at at North Texas roller rink late on Saturday, the Dallas Morning News reported.
The shooting at Forum Roller World in Grand Prairie, about 20 miles west of Dallas, occurred when a family member drew a pistol during what apparently started as a fight between a husband and wife, the newspaper reported.
A dispatcher at Grand Prairie police department told Reuters police received a call shortly after 7 p.m. local time reporting the shooting, but was unable to confirm further details.
“There was a shooting and there were multiple injuries,” Brittany Roberson said.
Roberson said there was a private family event at the rink at the time of the shooting.
