Baseball: Vanguard sweeps Westmont

COSTA MESA - The Vanguard University baseball team swept visiting
Westmont in a doubleheader, Saturday, improving to 4-2 in the Golden
State Athletic Conference.
The Lions (12-5 overall) opened with a 7-4 victory as Anthony Walker
pitched his fourth complete game of the season to earn his fourth win.
Vanguard right-fielder Samuel Baeder went 3 for 4 with one RBI, while
Chad Chop and Jeremy Isherwood added two hits each.
Pitchers Ryan Williams, Josh Franco and Garold Shaffer guided the
Lions to a 5-1 victory in the nightcap. Chop hit a two-run home run in
the first inning.
