LANCASTER - The Orange Coast United Sting, a boys under-19 silver
elite team, claimed second place at the California State Cup last
weekend.
In the quarterfinals, the Sting posted a 1-0 win over FC Heat, before
defeating San Diego Fire, 2-1, in the semifinals.
Ryan Lancaster and Brian Walton scored the Sting’s goals in the two
wins and pushed the squad into the championship game against Chivas San
Diego.
Trailing, 2-1, the Sting tied the game when Chasen Marshall found the
back of the net. But it wasn’t enough as the Sting fell, 3-2.
