COSTA MESA
Center Street: Police responded to a report of a flaming paper bag
being thrown at an apartment door in the 800 block at about 1 a.m.
Sunday. No injuries were reported, but arson is suspected. Fairview
Road: Police responded to a report of grand theft in the 2700 block at
7:40 a.m. Thursday. Computer software was reported missing.
Caraway Drive: A vehicle burglary was reported in the 1500 block at
8:27 a.m. Tuesday. Missing items include a stereo.
Minorca Place: Police responded to a report of vehicle burglary in the
1600 block at 9:32 a.m. Tuesday. An unknown suspect smashed a car window,
stole the stereo, some CDs and left a craftsman’s screwdriver.
Buckingham Drive: A vehicle burglary was reported in the 1100 block at
8:40 a.m. Tuesday. The subject said she could tell her car had been
ransacked. Her stuffed bunny had been knocked to the floor but nothing
seemed to be missing.
Cadillac Avenue: Police responded to a report of grand theft in the
3500 block at 1:58 p.m. Aug. 13.
NEWPORT BEACH
Corona del Mar Beach: Vandalism was reported at 8:40 a.m. Aug. 13.
Unknown suspects defaced a public restroom with gang-type graffiti.
Newport Center Drive: A vehicle burglary was reported in the 900 block
at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday. Stolen goods included three dresses, a leather
jacket, a blouse, sweatshirt and a cell phone cord. The estimated total
was $640.
Palm Street: Police responded to a report of grand theft in the 300
block at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. The amount stolen totaled $425.
Park Lane and Agate Avenue: Police responded to a report of petty
theft at 2 p.m. Tuesday. An unknown suspect entered a vehicle and took
money out of a wallet.
Third Street and Narcissus Avenue: Lost property was reported at 2
p.m. Aug. 13. The subject said she lost her wallet while walking to the
post office.
