Farel Mulligan Walker

Farel Walker, 95 passed away August 9, 2007 living a full life. As a 12 year old from Colorado the family settled in Orange County and she has enjoyed the beach life ever since. Survived by her sister Mary Read, niece Lorinda Quatrale and great nephew Anthony Quatrale. She worked as a secretary during the depression then worked at Vultee Aircraft for WWII. A member and employee of The Newport Harbor Board of Realtors, she helped form the Multiple Listing Service. Being a Real Estate Broker, she saw the Harbor Area grow to what it is today. A 1955 Charter member of the Soroptimist International Club of the Newport Harbor Area, She worked to originate the Girls Inc., Interval House, a shelter home with scholarships going to single working mothers who want to better their lives. Again, she was also instrumental in setting up Inspiration Point in Corona del Mar. Grave site services will be held at 11:00am Saturday August 25, 2007 at Pacific View Memorial in Corona del Mar. In memory of Farel, donations may be made to Soroptimist International, Project Independence Women Survivors of War.
