was a loving, enthusiastic, devoted daughter, sister, friend, wife, teacher, grandmother, and super mom. She shared her uncommon courage, faith in God, and love for family, friends, and community until the moment of her passing, Sunday morning, September 30, 2007. And she will continue to inspire us for the rest of our lives.
Norma’s dedication and passion extended to her friends and service to others, always looking for every opportunity to celebrate life, love, family and friendship. For over twenty years, Norma was an active member of the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Sanctuary Choir, a former church deacon and member of the Spiritual Wellness Group. She was a member of P.E.O and Kappa Delta sorority. Norma taught English at Servite High School. As a mother, she served on several PTA Boards for Roy O Anderson Elementary School and was an “Honorary Services” award recipient, She also participated in PTA at Corona del Mar High School. She was a Troop Leader in Girl Scouts. She was active in Harbor View Swim Team, Corona del Mar High School Men’s Water Polo, USC Tri-Delta Mother’s Club; UCLA Men’s Water Polo Team and Long Beach State Men’s Water Polo Team.
She is survived by many loved ones including her daughter Heather, son in law Gary, and grandson Carter, her son James and daughter in law Sylvia, her son Jason, their loving Dad Jim, her mother Marian Jackson, her sister Marian and brother in law Ron Rozycki, her Aunt Ruth Schroeder, her cousin Sara, other Schroeder and Lage cousins, and many, many friends.
Norma cared deeply for all of us. She has been such a vibrant and vital presence in our lives. She was like a shooting star…beautiful, radiant, and gone far too soon. Thank you Norma, for everything you’ve given us. You are so loved and will be so missed.
A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Friday, October 5, 2007 at 4:00pm. 600 St. Andrew’s Road, Newport Beach, CA 92663., Contributions in her memory may be sent to “Friends of Music” St. Andrew’s Sanctuary Choir or the P.E.O - ELF “Educational Loan Fund”, P.E.O.
