Championship comes in longest game on record

It took four overtimes, but the Dynamite defeated the Watermelon Squirters, 1-0, for the AYSO Area 57 girls’ under-10 championship.
After losing their first two games of the season, the Dynamite went on an 11-game win streak to win the league title. The victory marked the longest game on record in Area 57.
The Dynamite will represent Area 57 in the Mayor’s Cup tournament this week and begin regional play in December.
The Dynamite were led on offense by Leila Modjtahedi, Jasie Dunk and Jacky Choe.
Jane Ewles, Amanda Buhl, Allison Freyman, Rachel Aronoff and Molly Brown led the Dynamite’s defensive efforts.
Emma Ruck, Stephanie Daboub and Avery Bren provided strong play in the back row.
