RESTAURANT ROUNDUP:

Pasta Connection, the venerable Italian restaurant that has resided for more than two decades at the southern tip of Harbor Boulevard, is set to close April 21.

Yadira Hernandez, the daughter of the restaurant’s former owner and its de facto manager since January, said the restaurant was leaving its longtime residence because the owners could not afford a recent boost in rent. Pasta Connection has been at 1902 Harbor Blvd. for 24 years.

“We’re looking for another place nearby, hopefully in a two-block radius,” Hernandez said.

“We just haven’t found a place that we like. We’re working on it.”

The restaurant, which features homemade pasta, traditional Italian recipes and Italian/Argentine fare, is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
