Laguna Beach High boys’ soccer Coach Patrick Coyne will begin instruction Monday of a boys’ soccer camp at Laguna Beach High’s Guyer Field.
The camp is open to boys ages 4 to 14, and the cost is $125 per player. The registration fee includes player evaluation, certificate and a Laguna Beach High camp T-shirt.
Players will be divided on the field according to age group. The camp runs from 9 to 11:30 a.m. daily through July 11.
“For the younger players, there will be a lot of grass-roots development with a big emphasis on fun,” Coyne said. “For the players ages 8 to 12, it will be about skill development. For the 13-, 14- and 15-year-olds, instruction will help prepare them for the high school season.
“My goal is to build up soccer in Laguna Beach, and I want these kids to have fun while learning the game of soccer.”
In addition to the boys’ camp, Coyne will oversee a weeklong girls’ camp beginning July 21 and a coed camp will follow beginning July 28.
Coyne said that he will also hold a camp the last week in August for incoming freshman and high school-aged players at Laguna Beach High.
For more information about all the camps, contact Coyne at (949) 350-5239 or e-mail at [email protected].
