Artist to hide his works around Costa Mesa parks

Artist William Hessian will hide 10 miniature sea crabs in the public parks throughout Costa Mesa, encouraging people to get out and enjoy nature while bringing art to them at the same time.

Hessian’s stop in Costa Mesa is the fifth of six hunts he has held around the country this summer; the first four locations were in Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana and Oregon.

Hessian will release visual clues about the location of the sea crabs on his website, williamhessian.com, on Saturday and Sunday. If the sea crabs are not found by Monday, more clues may be released then. Anyone who finds one of the crabs gets to keep the artwork.
