Cluster Meet

IRVINE — Junior Melanie Powers and senior Laura Bilder finished 1-2 to lead the Sea Kings to a first-place finish among six schools on the three-mile course at Mason Park Thursday.

Powers came across in 18 minutes, 5.57 seconds, while Bilder followed in at 18:16.29. Juniors Marisa Cummings (19:10.81) and Allison Garrett (19:20.93) finished 13th and 14th, respectively to help CdM score 47 points, ahead of University, Irvine, Beckman, San Juan Hills and Laguna Hills.

Senior Tina Theriot came in 17th at 19:32.61, junior Christine Light was 19th in 19:36.48 and Kim Condino was 22nd in 19:49.71 for the Sea Kings.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Lauren Draganza had two birdies in her three-over-par 39 round that earned her medalist honors for the Sailors in their Sunset League match at Mile Square Golf Course Thursday.

Ali Thomas (41), Tiffany Kane (42), Lindsey Hanna (44), Morgan Moody (46) also contributed to the win for Harbor (11-0, 3-0 in league).

NEWPORT BEACH — Tess Crane and Kelly Moorhead both shot seven-over-par 42 to share medalist honors for the Sea Kings in their Pacific Coast League match at Newport Beach Country Club Thursday.

Amanda Johnson and Lisa Chan each shot 43, while Hyebin Hong followed at 48 for CdM (5-5, 2-2 in league).

SANTA ANA — Kelsey Venditozzi shot the low for the Lightning at 11-over-par 46 in the nonleague match at Willowick Golf Course Thursday.

Amy Babbush (48) and Sara Anderson (49) also scord for Sage Hill (1-4).

COSTA MESA — Senior Annie Tomasek had 14 kills and junior setter Shona Lamb had 35 assists to help the Eagles claim a 25-20, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21 nonleague home triumph Thursday.

Senior Taryn Patton had 10 kills while junior Amy Hartwell had nien kills and a team-high four service aces for the Eagles (10-1).

CORONA DEL MAR – Conley Kipp had 11 kills and five blocks in the Sea Kings’ 25-13, 25-16, 15-25, 23-23 nonleague match Thursday.

Madie Smith amassed 40 assists, while Claire Ham added four aces and Hailey Senske contributed 15 digs for CdM (7-3), ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division II-AA.

COSTA MESA — Junior Claire Ramser scored two goals and senior Kylie Sheppard had two assists for the Sailors in Sunet League game at Harper Community Center Thursday.

Sheppard also scored a goal, one of four in the first half. Juniors Lauren Chandler and Clarie Layton scored one goal each, while junior Kimmy Ramser added an assist for Newport Harbor (5-0-2, 2-0 in league).

LAGUNA HILLS — The Sea Kings swept in doubles to remain undefeated and win their Pacific Coast League opener Thursday.

Karen Ishii and Kelli Feeley went perfect in their sets, while Danielle Kaiden and Lindsay Zotovich dropped just one game for Corona del Mar (6-0), ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division I. Rebecca Beyer and Elizabeth Nguyen also swept at No. 3 doubles.

SANTA ANA — Sandra Im swept without dropping a game for the Mustangs in the Orange Coast League match at Santa Ana Valley High.
