Club hoops sign-ups nears its deadline

Registration for the upcoming Boys & Girls Clubs of Laguna Beach Boys Basketball League (grades K through 8) will close on Oct. 24.

Limited space is still available. Registration will take place at the Main Branch, 1085 Laguna Canyon Road.

The basketball program is $125 per player. Practices begin the week of Nov. 3. All participants must be current Boys & Girls Club members. An annual club membership is $150 and includes access to more than 30 after school activities.

Mixed doubles tennis open to Seniors

The City of Laguna Beach Senior Services is offering mixed doubles tennis.

The group will meet every Wednesday through Dec. 17, from 8 to 11 a.m., at the Alta Laguna Park tennis courts, 3300 Alta Laguna Park.

There is no charge to participate. Sign-ups for this drop-in program are on a first-come, first-serve basis at the courts. Space is limited. Players are required to bring their own tennis balls.
