Registration set for youth baseball, softball leagues

Two dates have been set for registration for the 2009 seasons at Laguna Beach Little League and Laguna Beach Softball League.

The first registration date is Oct. 25, followed by a Nov. 1 sign-up session. Both will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Riddle Field.

All newcomers to the league are required to bring a birth certificate and proof of residency. The cost per player is $190 for both baseball and softball and $120 for Tee-ball.

The league also is looking for volunteers to work as game umpires. No experience is needed and the league will provide training and umpire equipment. The umpire clinic is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 15.
