Advisory urges swimmers to avoid coastal waters

Orange County Health Care Agency officials are notifying the public to be wary of bacteria levels in the water since the latest rainstorm. An ocean advisory announced Wednesday urged swimmers to avoid Orange County coastal waters for the next three days, especially areas near runoff.

Health officials have issued an advisory off the 33rd Street channel on top of the long-term advisory at the Newport Harbor Marina at Pacific Coast Highway and Newport Boulevard.
