Man accused of slashing roommate in argument

A Costa Mesa man was arrested for slashing his roommate over a long-going dispute the two have had about the man’s eviction, police said Monday.

Dustin Nette, 25, was arrested in his apartment in the 200 block of Santo Tomas Street on Sunday morning after police were called about a dispute with someone using a knife.

Police said Nette is in the process of being evicted from the apartment by his roommate. The two were arguing Sunday morning when Nette grabbed a long-bladed knife and slashed his roommate in the shoulder, police said. The roommate was apparently not seriously injured, as he refused medical treatment, Lt. Clay Epperson said.
