Ex-Sage Hill star Dailey named Ivy Player of Year

Yale University senior Cat Dailey, a product of Sage Hill School, has been named Ivy League Player of the Year in women’s volleyball.

Princeton senior Lindsey Ensign, a former Corona del Mar High standout, joined Dailey on the All-Ivy first team.

Entering the NCAA Tournament opener Friday against Ohio University at Penn State, Dailey, a 6-1 junior outside hitter, had 326 kills, a .249 hitting percentage, 272 digs, 46 total blocks and 23 service aces.

She hit .302 against Ivy competition, helping the Bulldogs earn their first outright Ivy championship in 30 years.

Yale went 13-1 in league and takes a 20-5 record into postseason action.

Ensign, a 6-0 middle blocker, helped the Tigers post an 18-4 record, 12-2 in the Ivy League. She posted 231 kills and led the Tigers, the 2007 Ivy League champions, with a .393 hitting percentage and 51 total blocks.

Ensign was also a first-team All-IVY honoree as a junior.
