BREAKERS ROUNDUP: Boys’ hoops team peaking at right time

The Laguna Beach boys’ basketball team put on a strong showing Monday at the North-South Challenge at El Toro High. The Breakers took control early in their match-up against former Pacific Coast League foe Northwood and then cruised past the Timberwolves, 67-35.

The win put Laguna at 8-3 overall.

“I thought it was a real solid team effort,” Laguna Coach Bret Fleming said. “I thought we defended well and rebounded well. Ryan Lawler had a real solid game with some big rebounding and Adam Selevan had a big shooting night.”

Lawler led Laguna with 22 points and Selevan got all 12 of his points from behind the three-point arc.
