Update: The father-son rivalry is not one that Clippers Coach Doc Rivers looks forward to renewing. “It’s tough for a parent,” Rivers said of coaching against his son, Pelicans backup point guard Austin Rivers. “I never thought it would be. I thought it would be a lot of fun, and in Boston when we did it the first time, I realized it’s really not a lot of fun.” Pelicans center-power forward Anthony Davis has put himself in early conversations for the NBA’s most valuable player by averaging 25.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.1 blocks and 2.3 steals per game.
