Rebecca Lobo’s star was made in 1992-95, when she came to prominence at UConn, taking fans for a ride that ended with her sport on the map for good. She became an icon here - for her play, for her kindness, for kick-starting what has become an obsessive endeavor for countless Connecticut communities. On July 25, 2009, she was voted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.
