Baseball: Five UCLA commits from SoCal make USA 18U national team
- Share via
San Clemente had two players, pitcher Kolby Allard and catcher Lucas Herbert, both UCLA commits, make the USA 18U national team announced on Friday morning after tryouts in Houston.
They’re not the only Southern California selections and future Bruins selected.
There were five UCLA commits. Also selected were outfielder Blake Rutherford from Chaminade, pitcher Kyle Molnar from Aliso Niguel and pitcher Peter Lambert from San Dimas.
They might as well be wearing UCLA hats during practice.
Here’s the link to complete roster.
UCLA Coach John Savage will have lots to discuss while he watches his son, Jack, a senior linebacker for Servite, play on Friday night against Bishop Gorman at Cerritos College.
The 18U team will compete next week in the COPABE Pan American Championships in Mexico from Sept. 5 through Sept. 14.
