Sophomore pitcher Hunter Greene of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame touched 93 mph on the radar gun and picked up the pitching victory in a five-inning performance to help the USA 15U team defeat Panama, 14-2, on Thursday night in the opening game of the WBSC “AA” 15U World Cup in Mazatlan, Mexico.
Greene, a UCLA commit, gave up three hits and an unearned run in the first inning, then allowed one hit the rest of the way in his five-inning stint. He struck out four.
