USA Baseball announced its 40-man roster for players selected to compete for a spot on the 18U national team. Players spent the week showing off their skills at the Tournament of the Stars in Cary, N.C.
They will try out from June 29 to July 4, when the roster will be trimmed to 28. Then the remaining players will meet up in Los Angeles in August to finalize a 20-man roster.
Named to the 40-man team include Southern California-based players Jacob Amaya from South Hills, Hans Crouse of Dana Hills, Hagen Danner of Huntington Beach, Kevin Gowdy of Santa Barbara, Hunter Greene of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, Reggie Lawson of Victor Valley, Nick Pratto of Huntington Beach, Blake Rutherford of Chaminade and Blake Sabol of Aliso Niguel.
Four of the players are committed to UCLA. Two are USC commits.
They are the best of the best when it comes to juniors and seniors in the Southland for 2016.
