Baseball: Venice is headed to winning Western League title

One of the surprise baseball teams in the City Section has been Venice, which is 24-6 overall and 9-1 in the Western League. The Gondoliers have a one-game lead with two to play.
Junior shortstop Nick Atkins has been a standout all season for Venice.
Coach Kevin Brockway said he believes his team can be a factor in the Division I playoffs.
The seeding meeting is set for Monday, May 9.
