The CIF has temporarily suspended ticket sales for Saturday’s scheduled Southern California Regional basketball finals at The Pyramid.
With the success unbeaten Chino Hills (32-0) has been having in attracting growing numbers of fans to its games, the CIF is developing a contingency plan if the Huskies win their semifinal game in the Open Division playoffs on Tuesday against Foothills Christian. An announcement would come Tuesday night.
CIF spokeswoman Rebecca Brutlag said the organization is trying to work out a solution to the issue of so many fans wanting to see Chino Hills play. Regardless, the Open Division game will be played at The Pyramid.
The Open Division final is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Saturday. The Pyramid seating capacity is between 4,000 and 5,000. There was an estimated 12,000 who watched Chino Hills in its Southern Section final against Sierra Canyon at Honda Center earlier this month.
