Boys’ basketball: A 56-point performance puts Tyler Burch on top
- Share via
It’s been a good season for individual scoring, but no one in California has had a better performance than what 6-foot-5 senior Tyler Burch of Westminster pulled off on Wednesday.
He scored a school-record 56 points in an 89-79 loss to Ocean View, his former team. He made 17 of 34 shots and had nine three-pointers.
In his last three games, Burch has scored 43, 43 and 56 points. He’s averaging 26.9 points on the season.
“If somebody doesn’t sign him, they’re making a big mistake,” Coach Jesse Miramontez said.
Burch played at Ocean View his first two seasons before transferring to Westminster.
